Luxury Shepherds Hut with Private Hot Tub – Dipper’s Hut
Dipper’s hut (named after the rare river bird that can be seen wading and feeding at the water’s edge below the hut) is light and airy and has a contemporary yet cosy feel. This bespoke shepherds hut with hot tub incorporates a comfy double bed, seating and dining area and well-equipped kitchen into the open plan living area, in addition to a wood-burning stove for those chilly evenings! Dipper’s Hut also has the advantage of a full bathroom with shower, wc and oak washstand and basin within the hut itself.
The perfect shepherds hut glamping experience is complete with Dipper’s Hut having its own large private patio area overlooking the meandering stream including a dining area with BBQ, seating area with Adirondak chairs and private hot tub – a fantastic spot for relaxing under the stars. It is heated to a constant 38 degrees so you can enjoy at any time of day or night!
Guests also benefit from full access to and enjoyment of the island gardens and sun loungers and gazebo. These form part of the larger ¾ acre gardens shared with guests from the nearby Woodpecker Cottage (which can be booked together with Dipper’s Hut) – ideal for a get-together with family or friends!
The private hot tub is available to hire at a cost of £30 (up to 3 nights stay)
Dipper’s Hut is dog friendly. We welcome 1 sociable, well-behaved dog for a small fee of £15 per stay

Within the vicinity of the Forest of Dean, highlights include Go Ape Treetop Challenge and Forest Segway at Mallards Pike. For keen biking enthusiasts (and beginners alike!) there is Pedalabikeaway Cycle Centre, with its’ bike shop, cafe, bike hire and numerous cyclings trails to choose from. For an excellent lunch or evening meal, we always recommend The Globe at Alvington near Lydney to our guests. It offers an extensive menu which includes numerous gluten free/vegan/vegetarian options. A visit to the neighbouring Wye Valley wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the beautiful Symonds Yat, with spectacular views from Symonds Yat Rock and the opportunity to Canoe the Wye between Ross-on-Wye and Symonds Yat. The Saracens Head in Symonds Yat is an ideal spot for drinks or a meal by the riverside.
